5th Grade: Serves as a liaison between the PTO, school administration, 5th grade teachers and parents to help coordinate 5th grade activities (to include, but not limited to class celebrations, field trips and end of year awards ceremony). Ensures budget is met and helps facilitate fundraising as necessary.
Beautification: Responsible for working with the school to provide a clean and welcome atmosphere on campus; identifies and coordinates landscaping and playground improvements; organizes campus clean-up days.
Boosterthon: Serves as the primary contact for the Boosterthon team; helps to promote the event to the school and community; coordinates volunteers as needed for collecting and counting donations, etc.
Community Outreach: Maintains communication with the area neighborhood associations; coordinates holiday/philanthropy drives (food, toy, etc.)
Cultural Arts: Collaborates with the principal and teachers to coordinate diverse art and enrichment activities.
Dads Club: Serves as a liaison between the PTO and fathers/grandfathers/male figures, to assemble volunteers for PTO and school activities and provide a network for them to connect.
Fall Festival: Coordinates the annual PTO family event, which typically includes children’s activities/games, concessions, community partnerships, etc.
Garden Program: Liaison between Sinclair and the Ready to Grow garden program brought in for the 2023-24 school year thanks to generous funds raised at the Silent Auction.
Nominations: Responsible for selecting a committee, soliciting nominations for executive board and presenting a slate of nominations to the school and families.
Pumpkin Patch: Coordinates delivery, setup, and sales of the pumpkin patch in the fall.
Room Parent/Volunteer Coordinator: Solicits volunteers through a survey at the beginning of the school year and coordinates volunteers throughout the year for PTO and school activities as requested. Serves as a liaison between the PTO and room parents.
School Supplies: Coordinates ordering and delivery of school supply packets.
Silent Auction: Coordinates the silent auction event, which includes planning of event (location, catering, entertainment, etc.); manages classroom and community donations; organizes packaging as needed, etc.
Spirit Nights/Fundraising: Manages fundraising activities as approved by the executive board, which may include food sales at meetings/events, Box Tops, spirit nights, reward programs, etc.
Spirit Store: Responsible for maintaining spirit store inventory; coordinates sales of items during PTO events; fulfills orders, etc. (t-shirts, yard signs, etc.)
Teacher/Staff Appreciation: Organizes regular teacher and staff appreciation activities and coordinates events during Teacher Appreciation week.
Website: Responsible for updating, maintaining and managing the Sinclair PTO webpage. Collaborates with the PTO and school to provide updates and information to families. Maintains online calendar with HISD and school events.
Yearbook: Coordinates the design, creation, sales and distribution of school yearbook.
